Test 01Dambulla
Dambulla cave temple is the centerpiece of attraction because it has been named as a world heritage site by UNESCO. It says that king Saddathissa donated this cave to the monks and later on this cave was named a vihara [a shrine] by the King Walagambahu. Kings such as king Nissankamalla ,king Senarath , King Keerthi Sri Rajasinghe also added and modified this cave temple. The cave temple consist of 5 parts. They are,
- Deveraja lena
- Maharaja lena
- Aluth maha vihara
- Pachchima Vihara
- Devana AluthViharaya
You can also see wall and ceiling paintings, sculptures especially Budda sculptures etc.
