Anuradhapura

This is declared as a World Heritage Site in the year 1982. This one of the main archaeological sites with numerous Buddhist monasteries. History of Anuradapura goes back to 9^th Century. There are lots of monuments you can visit in Anuradapura. Sri Maha Bodhi, Ruwanwalisaeya, Abhayagiriya Stupa, Isurumuniya, Mahaviharaya are some of them.You can also visit to monuments such as Lovamahapaya[ Brazen Palace], Eth pokuna, Twin ponds, Jetavanaramaya etc.
