Minneria National Park

If you wish to see elephants Minneria National Park is one of the main elephant parks you can visit. There is a tank of historical importance, having been built by King Mahasen in third century AD. The park is a feeding ground for the elephant population dwelling in forests of Matale, Polonnaruwa, and Trincomalee districts in the dry season. [months of June to September] You can also watch  leopards, sloth bears and some monkey species.
